A total of 37 Heads and 105 Skins can be unlocked for Maya. The non-default heads and skins can be unlocked through random enemy drops, specific (though rare) enemy drops, mission rewards, challenge rewards, SHiFT code promotions, downloadable content and in-game trading with other players.

Notes

The Handsome Jack's Mask head is obtained several ways:
always drops a purple mask but it has blue rarity during single player on PS3. This mask can be unlocked for any character. and Handsome Sorcerer may drop a legendary mask that is class specific and unlocks for every character of that class.

Внешний вид - новая функция в Borderlands 2 и Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, которая позволяет игроку изменять внешний вид вашего персонажа, а именно отдельно выбирать модель головы и расцветку облика. Эта функция пришла на смену системы цвета одежды, которая была в Borderlands. Она реализуется посредством станции перестройки.

Большинство обликов и голов могут быть разблокированы довольно просто: выпасть из обычных врагов и боссов или получены за задания. Однако, некоторые требуют особых условий получения (например, требуются файлы с сохранением из Borderlands или участие в особых событиях). Облики и головы также имеют распределение по редкости (белый, зеленый, синий, фиолетовый, оранжевый, перламутровый).

Всего имеется три типа вещей для изменения:

• Головы (Heads) - они меняют внешний вид головы вашего персонажа.
• Облики (Skins) - они меняют расцветку одежды, а также волос вашего персонажа.
• Расцветки транспорта (Vehicle Skins) - они меняют цвет автотранспорта.

Когда вы нашли или получили новый облик или голову, предмет помещается в ваш рюкзак до тех пор, пока вы их самостоятельно не примените. Таким образом их можно продать, обменять/подарить или просто выбросить. Найденные ранее облики и головы остаются у вас навсегда. Чтобы изменить внешний вид, вы должны подойти к Станции Перестройки (Customization Station).
