The Code is used for opening the Safe in Break In. If you open the safe for the first time, you get the Codebreaker Badge.

Bugs/Glitches

If you manage to get past the window without triggering the cutscene and go to the basement door, since Scary Larry is still in there, you will freeze and then will be killed.

Also, if you turned on the basement lights on Day 2 and wait inside the basement until Day 3, Scary Larry will spawn near the door, but he will not kill you.

Obtaining

The Code is a 4-digit number written on a slip of paper. Players can find this slip of paper in the Basement.

In the Basement, there are various objects that, when interacted, will move. One of these objects hides a slip of paper under it. Note: The code is not always hidden under the same object, it is random.

The Basement is one of the major locations of the House.

During Day 1, you can open the Basement Door by using the Basement Key, however, it is currently too dark to go inside as said by the notification. You do not lose any energy if you attempt to go inside it.

On Day 2, you can optionally access the Basement early, but you first must unlock the basement and complete the Lights Challenge, in which you must turn on 9 light switches in 20 seconds. (15 seconds for the Guest.)

On Day 3, players are asked to check on the windows and doors to see if anything is broken. In the first window to the right at the entrance room to the basement, there will be a broken window. If you click on the basement door at that time, a message will pop up and say that they believe something is down there. Sure enough, a cutscene plays, and Scary Larry walks out of the basement. Players are required to hide in the closets or the drawer to survive after Scary Larry goes upstairs. Players who do not retreat to the Basement will be attacked by Typical Villains. Shortly after the players retreat to the Basement, they will have to defend the basement from a horde of Villains.

Some tips are to camp at the spawn point of the villains, which is at the entrance after the stairs to the basement. If there are multiple people camping, the villains may get buggy and spawn on top of the players. That way, when the players hit the villain, they fall to the ground, allowing it to be easier to attack.

When the villains invade, it is best if a player closes the door after everyone gets in. Closing the door prevents more villains from getting inside. Be careful, as you may shut the door on some of your teammates. If you don't close it, the Narrator will say, "You left the basement door open. This is going to be a lot harder now." Although this does not impact any other mechanics, 4-5 villains spawn instead of 2-3.

Three bedrolls appear on Night 3, meaning only three players get to sleep. However, players will not lose energy with lack of sleep, unlike the other nights.

During Night 4, you can still sleep down here, but at least two Villains may attack, just like in the Bedrooms.
